BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the monitoring and operation of all Enterprise Systems within the Command Center. Responsible for the monitoring and timely completion of processing schedules across multiple platforms. Insure the stability, connectivity, and integrity of the computer systems through the monitoring tools used in the Command Center. Responsibilities also include metrics reporting, system performance and availability, project management support, operational procedures/documentation, problem management resolution/tracking, and Contingency Operating support.
GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
1)Arrive on time so to receive a thorough turnover, with emphasis on special procedures, system conditions, hardware devices, and the problem management tool queue.
2)Monitor the processing of our daily production cycle across multiple platforms making sure all deliverables and SLAs are met. Platforms include: MVS, OS400, UNIX, and SAP.
3)Identify and report production problems/delays to management as they occur and document them accordingly. React to alerts.
4)Perform systematic and routine checks on all Enterprise Systems and peripheral equipment for integrity and stability.
5)Modify the batch scheduler to hold or execute jobs/flows as instructed in a timely manner. Process batch work and online procedures per schedules, request, or other requirements.
Exercises initiative and good judgment to efficiently utilize hardware and software capabilities in order to meet processing commitments.
Create and maintain documentation
Conduct him/herself at all times in a courteous and professional manner.
